Blog Candy Winner

I counted up all my entries and I must say...WOW! 28 may not be a lot to some of the "super bloggers" out there but I am thrilled!!! So I put all of the numbers in a hat and had my hubby pick one and congrats to Christie - She wrote:

"Ok I have to say without a doubt by favorite cardstock is Pink Pirouette with Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White and Kiwi Kiss to use with Bella Rose Designer Paper (all SU!). This is used a lot lately and can't seem to put it away! I think this is a great combo for young, teen and adult gifts! I love all your ideas!! Thanks for sharing!!"

Thank you Christine for sharing and playing along,,,this was really fun and I will definitely have to do it again some time!
Here is your candy......

Thank you to everyone else who left a comment, I hope you will come back again and check out my stuff!

Holiday crafts Project 2

The next few days will I will be showing you the projects kits I am offering for my craft night gals. I explain it all in the post below.....
Today's project is one I found on SCS, I apologize now because I could not find it again to link here but it is in the tutorials somewhere. I tweaked it some to fit my idea and needs.

I love how when this is all closed up it looks like a binder. I still have more pictures to add to this but I haven't dug them out yet!
The other really nice thing about this is that it was sooooo simple and quick to make. You really could pound out quite a few in 1 night.
Enjoy....

PS. Don't forget about the blog candy give away, open till tonight. See earlier post for details!

I'm back and I have Candy!!

Ok, so finally a post to show you what I have been working on!
I am holding my regular craft night next week but in addition to the cards we are going to make my craft buddies will be able to check out the sample gift I have made and place orders for the kits. Then next month we will have some extra craft nights to work on all of their projects.
Below is the altered Clipboard I made. I viewed tons of them on SCS and got ideas from lots of them. I also found some very small staplers and scissors to attach to the clipboard. So it is essentially more of a memo board. I forgot to clip on the post it noted where you see the green square in the upper right side. I got the cork at Office Max and the thin notepad is also from Office Max. I had them cut a pack of the small legal pads. It was pretty cheap to have that done right at the store...but I did find a few days later that the small legal pads were cheaper at Walmart! Figures!! Of yeah, the pen will eventually also be jazzed up to go with the set!

Ok now for the good stuff. I picked up some goodies at Michaels the other day and got enough to share! Plus there are some extra "sweets" from my crafting of late..So I thought I would have my 1st ever blog candy, and since I think there are only about 12 people who read my blog...you have a GREAT chance to win!! lol
Also I realized my blog has had over 5000 hits, granted 3000 of them are probably me looking at it but that ok, everyone loves some "candy"!

To enter is easy....just leave a comment and tell me your favorite color combo to use and your favorite card stock. For me it is SU card stock all the way and currently I am loving Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Close to Cocoa with some hinting of Night of Navy or More Mustard. Can't tell I am ready for fall!!
I will randomly pick a comment on Friday evening! Good luck!

Mini-Brag Book

I took photos of the step by step instructions for the brag book because the written instructions are a tad confusing with out the pictures so here it goes...hopefully you will finish this less confused!

Brag Book

Need: 1 sheet 12x12 cardstock cut into 4x12 strip (makes 3, set aside others for more books) scored at 3 inch increments all the way across

· 2 Pieces of cardstock cut to 3 ¾ x 5 ½ scored at 2 ¾ inches.

  • 15 inch piece of ribbon
  • · Decorative paper for inside pages cut to 2 ½ x 3 ½
  • · Decorative paper for cover (inside and out) at 2 ¾ x 3 ¾ (4 pieces)

Fold 12x4 sheet from the outer edges into the center, this will be the cover for your book.

At the middle edge of the book punch a small hole for an eyelet, ribbon will be run thru here to close the book.

Open the 12x4 sheet back up and set eyelets in the holes closest to the center crease.

Then lay the ribbon flat in the inside if the 12x4 centered at the middle crease. Thread ribbon thru the set eyelet.
Now on the most outer portion of the 12x4, cover with glue, then fold in to create book cover.

Hopefully you are all still following me at this point...
Take your two 3 ¾ x 5 ½ pieces of cardstock and fold them at the crease and line up this crease with the middle crease in the cover. Staple together to create book with pages.
(No, Staples did not pay me for the photo plug!!)
Now if you are still with me, take 2 of the 4 cover pieces of paper are decide which ones are going to be n the front and back of the book. You will notice that if you put it on the top of the book it covers the nice eyelet you have set....well, with the paper still on the cover rub over where the eyelet is and a magic genie will appear to grant all...no sorry wrong blog!! Anyways rub the eyelet and make an indent so then you will know where to use your hole punch. Notice that i am only punching out 1/2 a circle so the paper will nicely go around the eyelet.

Now take your 2 other pieces of paper and use these to decorate the inside cover of the book. This will cover the hole made way back at the start for those of us that don't have the Big Bite (next generation Crop a Dile)
Shown with the blue paper below:
The rest of the photos are just how I quickly decorated it. I used one of the Simply Scrapin kits from SU, I like not having to think about matching up my paper and it also comes with stickers to decorate with, gotta love it!
Hopefully this makes it a little more clearer than mud...any questions just ask!

Piece of Cake

Not only was this card a piece of cake to make, but it also uses the Piece of Cake stamp set from Papertrey Ink
Solid paper is Purely Pomegranate from SU and the DP came from a 6x6 pack I got a while ago also from SU. This was my first tri-fold card, I liked it....very simple to make. The bling on the cake came from Stamping Bella
